Zim has a little mishap involving a Cellular Reconstruction Thingy, and he ends up a slightly different Irken than he was before.

“The Pros of Adaptation” by PolyesterRage is a story whose base had been long looked over and prodded at by almost all in the IZ fandom. The idea that either of the main character’s from the show turning into each other’s species has been done and done again so many times that I had truly thought I’d seen it all, and it is true that I had begun reading this work the day it appeared on FF.net. But the reason why I enjoyed it was that the story, while keeping many of the seemingly insane elements of the show in their true form, had an element of cold reality to it as well. Many of the small worries no one would think about in such situations are touched upon, expanded, and suddenly made both notable and a part of the story that just makes sense. Despite it’s slow updates, I fully believe this is a story that keeps on going strong, with all the aspects, dark and light, that make it well rounded, well-thought out… and above all, entertaining. Recommended to all IZ fans.

I agree with crystal-rex; the story has the same feel as the cartoon itself, and looks into many details that would otherwise be ignored. It's quite a treat to read. Well done, PolyesterRage!

In a way, Judy Chicago's "The Dinner Party" is feminism's version of Washington Crossing the Delaware--or it would be if Washington had made the trip with his fly open.
